Official Launch of Samford First Responders

The Official Launch of the Samford First Responders was held at the Samford Farmers Hall on Saturday 10th May 2003 at 10am.

Commentary
The launch event was well attended by around 130 members of the Samford Community, Rural and Urban fire services, and representatives of various areas of the QAS.

Following wonderful refreshments made by the Samford CWA, Peter Wood (Area Manager, QAS) introduced the dignitaries and community representatives:

Gerard Lawler then addressed the meeting, acknowledging Peter Wood's dedication and hard work.

Bob Millar spoke on behalf of the Pine Rivers Shire Council.

Geoff Wilson spoke as the local State member.

Mike Reynolds then addressed the meeting, and formally announced the Samford First Responders Group. A copy of Mikes speech can be found here. Mike then presented the certificates to each of the Samford First Responders.

On behalf of the Samford Rotary Club and the Samford progress Association, Rowan Mcauley and John Lilley presented the 3rd Defibrillator to Martin Orme.

Martin Orme, on behalf of the SFRG, thanked all dignitaries, acknowledged all our sponsors and supporters, and addressed the meeting. Martins speech can be found here.

The morning finished off with more tea, coffee and wonderful cakes and biscuits from the Samford CWA.
